Four sites. Three locations. One group.

The Westfälische Stahlgesellschaft group of companies comprises trading companies in various regions of Germany and, with the Plettenberg drawing mill, it has its own bright steel production operations for high-quality bar steel products. We place our combination of excellent production expertise and wide-ranging trading competence, which is rare for a medium-sized group of companies, entirely at the service of our customers: Our understanding as a true group is both a claim and an obligation to offer all our customers an optimum of diversity and flexibility in products and operations as well as comprehensive materials expertise at every site without having to go through time-consuming channels and procedures.

Accordingly, our trading companies, located in Plettenberg, Löhne (East Westphalia) and Stuhr-Brinkum (near Bremen), are able to stock large quantities of steel in a wide variety of grades and configurations, which are either available without delay or can be called for by customers. All sites have a large number of modern facilities for a wide range of pre-processing options, such as customer-specific sawn sections. Besides that, all trading companies are able to carry out material tests on site, for example to determine a steel’s composition or mechanical properties.

From our group understanding, we know not least how to use the advantages of concentrated procurement activities to the satisfaction of our customers. Excellent relationships between our centrally controlled and internationally active purchasing department and selected steel manufacturers throughout the world ensure economic purchasing opportunities and consistent supply capability.
